Malinda (Riley) Hanson
Hi, my name is Malinda (Riley) Hanson, and I have been working for the Valley
Community Coalition since November of 2002.
Before joining the coalition, I worked in the field of Substance
Abuse Prevention for about 4 years, doing some really exciting
things, like Teen Support Groups for Pregnant and Parenting Teens,
after-school programs for K-12 students, youth groups, activities,
community-building and more!
I graduated from Northeast Iowa Community College in 1993 with an
Associate of Arts Degree in Human Services. I attended Winona State
University for a semester with a Criminal Justice major before
coming back to Iowa and graduating with a Bachelor Degree in
Psychology in 1998.
I currently live in Waukon with my two children, Jade (15 yrs.) and
Trystan (8yrs.). I am the oldest of three kids. My parents,
grandparents, sister (Heather) and brother (David) all live in
Waukon, too with their kids.
The
thing that I love most about working with the coalition is the
people, especially the kids! I believe that I have the best job in
the world, and am very thankful to be here! The people in this
community are truly amazing, and are definitely making a difference
for generations of youth!

may places including Philadelphia, Cleveland, New Orleans, and
Mississippi. I graduated from Luther College with my Bachelors of
Arts in Social Work in December 2004. I graduated from Valley in
2000.
