Parenting
*The parent and community subgroups
have now joined forces to create one group that works on issues surrounding both parenting and the community.

The VCC has an extensive resource list covering abuse (sexual and domestic), drug and alcohol prevention and treatment, counseling, eating disorders, food-medical and energy assistance, hot line phone numbers, mentoring, parenting, family, and teen pregnancy.  You can find the list from our RESOURCE page under links.

We hope you take advantage of these helpful links and suggest this web page to others who are overwhelmed and don't know where or how to begin when looking for answers and advice.

Parenting Coordinator

The Parent sub-group's goal is to develop and assist parents to keep them updated on drugs and parenting skills.

The Parent Education sub-group has been active in organizing parenting classes. This sub-group has sponsored other events that increase the knowledge of parents regarding the problem of substance abuse. They regularly offer parenting tips at all VCC meetings and in the newsletter.  The Parent Education sub-group has a wonderful record of success and will continue to be a major player in the future success of the VCC.  This sub-group looks forward to working on issues to help make changes in attitudes and behaviors related to drug use.

If you are interested in being a member of this parenting/community subgroup, please contact  Cassie Friederich  at 423-5171 or email her.
