The goal of the Community Subgroup is to educate the community and engage citizens in working on reducing the underage use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in the Valley. Current issues we are working on include:

Providing beverage server trainings to licensees in the county -
Collaborating with Clermont Neighborhood Watch and exploring the idea of creating groups in Elgin and Clermont -
Reducing the amount of alcohol advertising our youth are being exposed to -
Exploring the idea of random drug testing at Valley -
Implementing media campaigns to educate the public on the dangers of hosting parties where underage substance use is occurring -
Changing laws and creating ordinances to better protect our youth |
And much, much more!
